The Warmth of the Present.

Yesterday I was looking for packages.

Papers, signatures, running around.

I thought these were important things.

Because they had to be taken care of.

Because they were tangible.

Then in the morning I went to her house.

I took some shopping.

We sat down to talk.

And suddenly I realized something: Life is not about the big things.

But about sitting across from each other.

In asking: "Do you want something else?"

In laughing together over a little thing.

In being there.

Time is not an enemy.

It doesn't take away anything from what I experience today.

What I say today.

What I do today.

Love is not about the uncertainty of tomorrow.

Love is the certainty of now.

And today we still talk together.

Today we still plan the next day together.

Today we light the lamp together.

I pay more attention not out of fear.

But out of gratitude.

Because what is is valuable.

And what is valuable is not to be feared, but to be lived.

Today we are still together.

And that is enough.
