The Pebble and the Wave.
A little boy stood on the shore of a lake, holding a small pebble. He looked at the smooth surface of the water and wondered if such a small pebble would matter if he threw it in.
Then he waved his hand, and the pebble sank with a soft splash.
Circles began to form on the water: small at first, then larger and larger. They reached the reeds, the ducks swimming nearby, and even the other side.
The little boy watched in amazement:
"I never thought such a small stone could create such big waves."
Then an old man sitting next to him spoke:
"You see, my son, life is like that. A single kind word, a smile, a little help can create waves that go further than you think. You may never see where its impact will go, but it will definitely reach someone somewhere.
The little boy nodded, and on his way home that day he decided to throw a "pebble" into people's lives every day - be it kindness, attention, or a small help.
Lesson
We don't have to do big things to make a difference. Sometimes the smallest gesture can make the biggest waves.
