The Old Watchmaker's Secret.

In a small town there lived an old watchmaker whom everyone knew. He was not rich, but he always worked accurately and conscientiously, and he never overcharged. His shop was always open, and an old pendulum clock ticked above the door.

One day a young man came into his shop. He had a pocket watch in his hand that had not been working for a long time.

- Can you fix it? - he asked, a little impatiently.

The old watchmaker slowly examined the watch and then said:

- I will try, but it will take time.

The man waved his hand angrily.

- Come on, just one watch! You are slow. Any other watchmaker would have done it long ago.

But the old man just smiled and replied:

- Time is not in a hurry, my son. Only we are rushing ahead of it.

The man left the watch, but secretly thought: "This old man is just stalling for time, he must be clumsy."

Weeks later he went back. The watchmaker placed the pocket watch in front of him, which was working again.

"This is not just a watch," the old man said softly. "This watch belonged to your father, who used it to measure time every night while he held your hand. Inside the mechanism was a small inscription: "To my son, always remember, time is precious."

The man fell silent. Tears welled up in his eyes. Until then, he had thought he was just having an old object repaired. Now he understood: it wasn't the watch that was important, but the memory and the message it carried.

The truth suddenly struck him like lightning: time cannot be rushed, only lived with dignity.
