Lighthouse.

20/12/2025

The Lighthouse.

"The lighthouse doesn't call, it doesn't ask, it doesn't save — it just shows you the shore and leaves the decision up to you."

The lighthouse doesn't call

It doesn't tell you what to do.

It doesn't wave.

It doesn't shout.

It just stands there.

Some people think the lighthouse is lit so that all ships will go there.

But it's not.

It's lit so that you can see the shore when you're no longer sure where you're drifting.

Some people head toward it.

Some people turn away from it.

And some people just look at it for a moment and then go on about how unfair the waves are.

The tower doesn't argue.

It doesn't explain.

It doesn't prove.

It doesn't hold you accountable for anything.

It just points.

It says quietly:

"Here is the shore."

"You could moor here."

– And there is the reef, where many have already been injured.

The sailor decides.

Some people tidy up the deck, because they suddenly notice that the ropes have long since broken, and that inside the ship there is no longer disorder, but abandonment.

Some people prefer to hoist a new flag, put on nicer clothes, paint the side of the ship, and say:

– See? Everything is in order.

The tower still lights up.

It doesn't say you're lying.

It doesn't say you're bad.

It doesn't say you're late.

It just stays where it is.

Anyone who approaches it must be silent for a while.

Because you can't tell stories with the light.

You can see the cracks there.

You can see the rusted parts.

And also what can't be postponed any longer.

The tower doesn't save anyone.

It doesn't dock for you.

He won't take the wheel.

But he won't fall asleep.

And for some, this is the hardest thing: that the light is there even when there's no one left to be angry with.

Because the lighthouse is not your enemy.

Not your friend.

Not your savior.

But reality.

Those who want to, head towards it.

Those who don't, learn to live with the darkness.

Both are decisions.

The tower stands as long as there are those who can still see it.

"The light remains there even if no one heads towards it."
