Deep in the Well.

.In a small village there lived a boy who always complained: there were too many worries, too much darkness in his life. One day, the old wise man took him by the hand at the edge of the village and led him to an old, dry well.

- Look inside! - he said.

The boy bent down, but saw only deep darkness.

- I don't see anything - he said disappointedly.

However, the old man smiled and then threw a pebble into the well. After a while, a soft splash was heard.

- Do you hear? - asked the wise man. - There is still water in the depths. The well is alive.

The boy nodded in amazement.

- Life is like that too - continued the wise man. - If you only look at the darkness, you think it is empty. But if you dare to believe and throw your own pebble - hope, love, patience - then its voice will come back. And this voice reminds us that there is always something deep down that gives life.

The boy then understood: it is not the darkness that is the master, but what he puts into the world.

Lesson

Sometimes difficulties are like a well thought to be dry: they seem empty. But there is always water deep down that only a little faith, a little action can bring to the surface. And the splash reminds us: hope never disappears completely.
